ALL STARS for the first-ever SV.LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES confirmed
SV.LEAGUE has confirmed the players and HCs for the "MUFG SV.LEAGUE ALL STAR GAMES 2024-25 ISHIKAWA", scheduled for Saturday, January 25, and Sunday, January 26, 2025, following the conclusion of the highly successful fan voting process.
The participating athletes comprise 28 fan voters, 14 from each category, along with an additional 28 players recommended by the league, bringing the total to 56 participants. The fan voting, conducted via the V Collection platform from October 19 (Friday) to November 17 (Sunday), garnered a remarkable 232,549 votes, including 71,772 votes for the women’s category and 160,777 for the men’s. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who participated.
*Fan-voted players include the top two in OP/S/L categories and the top four in OH/MB categories.
Captains and Head Coaches
In the fan voting held to select captains and head coaches following the player selection process, Nichika Yamada (NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki) and Kotona Hayashi (Osaka Marvelous) were named captains for the women's teams, while Masahiro Yanagida (Tokyo Great Bears) and Tomohiro Ogawa (JTEKT Stings Aichi) were chosen for the men's teams. For head coaches, Takayuki Kaneko (NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki) and Mayumi Saito (Gunma Green Wings) chosen for the women’s teams, with Laurent Tillie (Osaka Bluteon) and Valerio Baldovin (Wolf Dogs Nagoya) were selected for the men’s teams.
Voting Results
SV.LEAGUE WOMEN
- Outside Hitters: The voting leader Kotona Hayashi (OSAKA), received 8,507 votes. Other notable players include Sae Nakajima (SAGA HM, 7,953 votes) and Ai Kurogo (AGEO, 7,488 votes)
- Opposites: Miyu Nagaoka (SAGA HM) leads with 8,404 votes, followed by Yukiko Wada (NEC, 7,019 votes)
- Middle Blockers: Nichika Yamada (NEC) dominated with an outstanding 19,628 votes
- Setters: An Evergreen Koyomi Iwasaki (AGEO) earned 11,433 votes, placing her at the top
- Liberos: Minami Nishimura (SAGA HM) garnered 13,292 votes to secure the lead
SV.LEAGUE MEN
- Outside Hitters: The one and only Ran Takahashi (SUNTORY) led with an impressive 54,454 votes, followed by Masahiro Yanagida (Tokyo GB, 38,129 votes)
- Opposites: Yuji Nishida (OSAKA B) stood out with 46,830 votes
- Middle Blockers: Taishi Onodera (SUNTORY) secured a remarkable 55,208 votes, the highest tally among all players in this selection process
- Setters: Masahiro Sekita (STINGS AICHI) earned the highest number in his category with 55,084 votes
- Liberos: Tomohiro Ogawa (STINGS AICHI) ranked first with 49,622 votes
